KMU awarded for quality assurance services

PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has been awarded for outstanding quality assurance services in higher education by higher education department.

The higher education department organised an event to give away quality assurance award to public sector universities of the province for outstanding quality assurance services in higher education at Agricultural University Peshawar.

Seven public sector universities were awarded for their performance in specific areas, said a press release. Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Higher Education Kamran Bangash was chief guest on the occasion.

Higher Education Secretary Dawood Khan, National Academy of Higher Education Rector Dr Shaheen Sardar Ali and Adviser Quality Assurance of Higher Education Dr Shafiqueur Rehman were also present on the occasion.

It is worth mentioning that KMU has been awarded a quality award on best affiliation and quality assurance practices in the university and its affiliated colleges and medical institutions.

Syeda Asiyah Bukhari, the director of quality enhancement cell at KMU, received the award on behalf of Vice-chancellor Dr Ziaul Haq.

The department awarded certificate of appreciation to Syeda Asiyah Bukhari as well as Sahir Atiq, the deputy director of quality enhancement cell at KMU for the outstanding performance of the cell.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamran Bangash highlighted the vision of chief minister. He said that “education card” would be given to the students of the province on the analogy of “health card” and free education would be encouraged to compete at national and international level.
