Six districts get new deputy commissioners

GUJRAT: Transfer and posting of deputy commissioners (DCs) in at least six districts was made by the Punjab government on Monday.Zeeshan Javed, officer on special duty (SDO), was posted Dera Ghazi Khan DC vice retired Capt Muhammad Ali Ijaz who was posted Okara DC.

Gujrat DC Saif Anwar Jappa was transferred and directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) whereas director general of the environment Punjab Mehtab Waseem Azhar was posted Gujrat DC.

Mr Jappa has already joined the online training course for the promotion to next grade around a week ago whereas Mr Azhar who had earlier served as Mandi Bahauddin DC until September 2020, was again posted Gujrat DC.

Sources said that Mr Azhar was posted on the recommendation of PML-Q’s leadership since as per power sharing formula, PML-Q’s recommendations are to prevail in the transfer/postings on key administrative slots of Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal, Bahawalpur and Daska. Nabeela Irfan, additional secretary of planning and development, was transferred and posted as the Narowal DC relieving the ADCR of the additional charge.

Rana Saleem Ahmed Khan, OSD, was posted Hafizabad DC relieving the ADCR of the additional charge.

Hamza Salick, serving as political assistant of Dera Ghazi Khan, is now posted Khushab DC relieving the ADCR of additional charge.

Mansoor Ahmed, who was serving Nankana Sahib DC, was changed and directed to report to the S&GAD whereas Chakwal ADCR Musawar Ahmed Niazi was transferred and posted as Nankana Sahib DC.

The Punjab government transferred Population Welfare Department secretary Ali Bahadur Qazi and posted him Sahiwal commissioner against a vacant post, relieving DC Babar Bashir of the additional charge of the post.
