Medical officer appointed at ITP office

ISLAMABAD: A medical officer has been permanently appointed at the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) office to monitor the physical fitness of staff and visitors.

According ato details, newly-appointed SSP (Traffic) Syed Karar Hussain has made the effort to ensure that all facilities are provided to applicants of driving licences. The medical officer (BS-17) from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences has been appointed to monitor people’s health and physical fitness.

A thorough medical examination including eye testing of visitors will be conducted along with determining what their blood group is as this information is important to note before a licence is issued. The medical officer will check whether the applicant suffers from any disability.

The SSP (Traffic) thanked IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamilur Rehman and DIG (Security) Waqaruddin Syed for taking special interest in resolving traffic-related issues. He said all out efforts would be made to ensure that citizens were provided a safe road environment and laws are implemented.

He urged citizens to forward their suggestions to him so that further improvement may be ensured in police-related affairs.
