Two-day workshop on human trafficking held

QUETTA: Participants of a two-day workshop were informed about steps which should be taken to prevent smuggling and human trafficking to other countries.

The workshop was arranged by the Federal Investigation Agency in collaboration with the UNODC to create awareness among people about human trafficking. Its concluding session was held on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion Director of FIA’s Anti-Human Smuggling Headquarters Sardar Zaheer Ahmed informed the audience about two newly-enacted laws on migrants’ smuggling and trafficking.

He underlined the need for creating awareness among all stakeholders about Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018, and Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants’ Act, 2018, to save innocent migrants from gangs of smugglers who lure them of good future and job opportunities in different countries of the world.
