BAHAWALPUR, Oct 26: As many as 70 candidates appearing in the supplementary intermediate examination were stunned to see the question paper entirely different from the syllabus they had prepared for at the Abbasia High School examination centre on Wednesday.
It is learnt that the candidates had prepared themselves for the Islamic history paper according to the new syllabus, but all the questions appeared were from the old course.
Agitated by the situation, they immediately sought help of the centre superintendent who contacted the BISE controller of examination. The controller directed him to take the examination with the same paper (covering the old course).
The superintendent asked the candidates to solve the same paper for which they would be granted 20 grace marks. Otherwise, he threatened that they would have to face the music as he would design a very tough question paper.
Meanwhile, the same question paper was distributed among the candidates at the Government Degree College, Khanpur, examination centre. The students protested against the unjust attitude, but to no avail.
None of the board officials was available for comments.
