Ruling coalition in Balochistan intact, says Alyani

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has denied the claim of some leaders that several members of the provincial assembly have expressed their anger against the government and said the number of such MPAs was not more than two.

Talking to journalists after visiting an under-construction sports complex in the Sariab road area here on Wednesday, he said the coalition parties had reposed full confidence in him and “we are still united and together”.

“Majority of the members of the ruling party and coalition partners are with me and we should keep our differences up to development and resolving the problems of the people,” he added.

He said that he saw things but ignored them to some extent but it was not possible to provoke the party and misguide the people unnecessarily when there was no such situation. As far as changing of portfolios was concerned, he said, it was done according to the requirements and performance of some ministers.

Mr Alyani said Sardar Mohammad Saleh Bhootani got angry as his portfolio was changed because the local government department was not working satisfactorily.

He said in his letter to Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo he did not criticise him but gave some suggestions. “I have not criticised the speaker,” he said.

In reply to a question, he said some friends were angry at him as well as the Balochistan Awami Party government before he was elected as chief minister but their number was only two. “If someone has party or personal issues they can discuss them in the cabinet meetings or any other forum,” he said.
