Shorkot Cantonment interchange renamed
TOBA TEK SINGH: The name of Shorkot Cantonment interchange on motorway M-4 in Jhang district has been changed as Hazrat Sultan Bahu interchange on the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A notification issued on Wednesday by the Federal Ministry of Communication has directed the National Highways Authority chairman to rename the interchange as approved by the prime minister.
Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (Safron) Sahibzada Muhammad Mahboob Sultan (PTI MNA from Jhang NA 114) and his nephew – federal parliamentary secretary for food ministry Sahibzada Muhammad Ameer Sultan (also PTI MNA from Jhang NA 116) – had urged the prime minister to approve renaming of the interchange.
HONOUR KILLING: A woman was murdered by her uncle in the name of honour at a Kamalia village on Wednesday.
Police said Muhammad Yar shot dead his niece ‘F’, a resident of Chak 736-GB, over suspicion.
The Kamalia Saddar police arrested the suspect.
ROBBERIES: Robbers looted Rs1.5 million from an employee of a poultry farm at Gojra on Wednesday.
The Gojra Saddar police said Nabeel Ahmad, employee of poultry farmer Iftikhar Ahmad of Chak 432-JB, was returning to the farm after recovering money from customers when three robbers stopped him and took away the cash.
A gang of robbers deprived Akhtar Ali Gohar of Sahiwal of cash, gold ornaments and mobile phone sets worth more than Rs500,000 on Gojra-Samundri Road near Chak 367-JB, Jallianwala.
