Minority MPA wants admission quota implemented

PESHAWAR: Minority MPA Wilson Wazir has requested the chief minister and the governor to play their role in implementing the five per cent admission quota for students belonging to minorities in the educational institutions of the province.

The implementation of the admission quota would ensure that minority students had access to quality education, according to a statement issued here on Monday.

He pointed out that the provincial education department was giving only two per cent admission quota to the students in violation of a resolution passed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in 2019 calling for giving five per cent quota to the minority students in colleges and universities.

Wilson Wazir also highlighted the absence of five per cent admission quota in various professional institutions of KP.

He said equal opportunities should be extended to the minorities for the better future of Pakistan.
