PTI to hold demos after Friday prayers

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf central Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry has asked all central Punjab districts’ presidents to organise protest demonstrations outside major mosques after Friday prayers to condemn Israeli aggression and express solidarity with the innocent and unarmed Palestinians.

Mr Chaudhry stressed that the PTI workers should participate in the protests against Israel and ensure observance of Covid SOPs.

He also urged the Ulema to highlight Israel’s aggression against Palestinians in their Friday speeches. The PTI central Punjab president demanded that the United Nations and international community should take note of Israeli terrorism unleashed on innocent Palestinians.

Meanwhile, Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar have condemned Israel’s air strikes on Gaza that killed scores of innocent Palestinians. They demanded that the United Nations and international bodies should break their silence and come to the rescue of innocent Palestinians.

Pervez: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, while condemning Israeli violence in Palestine, saidthe international community must take notice of the oppression.

“All Islamic countries should raise their voice against Israeli atrocities in Gaza. This oppression must be stopped,” he said in a statement here Wednesday.

Mr Elahi said the Pakistani people stood with their Palestinian brothers and sister and expressed solidarity with them.

“The Palestinian people are bravely fighting the Israeli atrocities,” he said, adding that no Muslim could remain silent over the sanctity of ‘Qibla-i-Awwal’ (Al-Aqasa Mosque).

“Let the world know that the dream of world peace will not be fulfilled without resolving the issue of Palestine,” the assembly speaker said.
