Light rain turns weather pleasant

RAWALPINDI: Light rain and winds on Monday brought a pleasant change in weather in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The residents of twin cities were facing warm weather for the last three days with temperature rising to maximum 38°C Celsius.

The Met Office has predicted more rain in the twin cities. The official said that continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. Weak moist currents are reaching western and upper parts of the country.

It said that hot and dry weather was expected in most plain areas of the country during day time, while dust-thunderstorm and gusty winds with rain are expected in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Upper Punjab, Northern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the afternoon.

The Met Office recorded 14 millimeter rain in Saidpur in Islamabad while drizzles in other parts of the twin cities after Asar prayer.

Bahawalnagar recorded 43°C, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mithi 42°C, Nurpur Thal, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, Mohenjo-Daro, Sargodha and Multan 41°C.
