3989 clubs apply for registration

LAHORE: A total of 3989 applications have been received from the organisers of clubs from across the country at the end of the second deadline, April 28, set by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Overall there is an increase of 178 additional applications received which shows clubs’ interest in the registration during the April 22-28 time bracket.

Lahore led with 244 applications, while Karachi, the largest city of the country, remained second with 233 applications. Province wise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa led with 865 applications, followed by Central Punjab (827). 710 applications were submitted from the Sindh Cricket Association, 537 from Southern Punjab, 533 from Balochistan Cricket Association and 517 from Northern Cricket Association.

Moreover, Faisalabad (106), Hyderabad (102), Rawalpindi 93, Bannu (85) and Quetta (83) are other prominent cities among a total of 90 cities. In the Southern Punjab region, Bahawalnagar received 63 applications.

“Upon successful verification of the applications, the presidents will receive another online link on the registered e-mail address through which they will enter the remaining data relating to categories of membership and players. The clubs whose applications fail the verification process will also be notified with reasons,” said the PCB in a press release on Thursday.
