There remain no extant copies of the paper on April 26 and 27, 1946. The excerpt below is taken from the April 25 edition.

(EDITORIAL) The coming of a Delegation consisting of three top-ranking British Cabinet Ministers to settle issues concerning the future of 400,000,000 human beings in this sub-continent, has induced most big newspapers in Britain and American to send out their “Special Correspondents” or “Special Representatives”.

…Not everything that these Foreign Correspondents cable to their papers is reported back again, but a great deal of it is. And generally speaking it is the kind of stuff of which greatness is not made…. [T]here have been cases of representatives of well-known foreign newspapers cabling home “copy” supposed to be the product of their original research and investigation but which was, in truth, nothing but tendentious gossip picked up in certain political circles, most in the vicinity of New Delhi’s lime-lighted Harijan Colony. …Exaggerations, misrepresentations, wrong interpretations of events and motives of political parties, even personal mudslinging at respected political personalities, which are only too common in the “Fourth Estate” of this country, seem also to be regarded as virtues by the majority of foreign journalists now in India….
