Two killed in clash over ‘honour’

GARHI YASIN: Two persons were killed in an armed clash between two groups of the Essani community near Shikarpur on Sunday.

According to rescue sources, rival groups led by Raza Mohammad Essani and Shahzado Essani exchanged fire which resulted in the death of Wazir and Usman Essani near Garhi Yasin town of Shikarpur district. The cause behind the clash was stated to be an old karo-kari issue that has already claimed five lives.

The bodies were shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs.

The firing caused panic in the area. Strong contingents of police rushed to the scene to prevent further bloodshed.
