Law and order to be maintained at all costs, Balochistan MPAs assured

QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has said that the government is taking strict action against the elements involved in drug trade and 144 suspected traffickers have been arrested over the past one year.

Speaking at the floor of the house during a session of the Balochistan Assembly on Friday evening, he said that 142 cases had been registered against drug traffickers and the government would not compromise on the matter.

“We want to protect our future generation and all possible steps would be taken to ensure curbing drag trafficking in the province,” Mr Langove said.

The minister said that in order to improve the law and order situation in the province, more steps would be taken.

“We have to control acts of terrorism and all such activities that cause unrest. After a long struggle, peace has returned to the province which we not only have to maintain but also stabilise,” he said.

He said the government was capable of maintaining the situation, adding that after a long period of unrest in the province, peace had been achieved. He said no one would be allowed to sabotage the hard-earned stability, adding that all relevant departments would have to play their role in this regard.
