DACCA: It was officially announced in Dacca today [April 13] that all pockets of resistance in Dinajpur have been cleared by the Pakistan Army. An Army column was moved into the area following reports that anti-State elements and miscreants with the help of armed infiltrators from across the border were harassing the people of this north western region of East Pakistan. … In Dacca telephone services have been restored fully as all the four auto-exchanges have now been put back to work. … Meanwhile, East Pakistan Road Transport Corporation has reintroduced its bus service on Dacca-Comilla route. — Agencies

In a Press statement … he urged the Government to annul the National Assembly and hold fresh elections in the country on the basis of separate electorate. He said after the Government’s decision to outlaw the Awami League the existence of National Assembly was illogical.
