Balochistan CM reviews progress of uplift programme

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Alyani on Monday reviewed the progress of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2020-21.

Presiding over a meeting, he ordered preparation of proposals for development schemes of transport, science and information technology and Urban Planning & Development and their concept papers for the next financial year.

Parliamentary Secretary on Urban Planning and Quetta Development Authority Mobeen Khliji and secretaries concerned briefed a meeting on the concept papers of different projects and progress on the PSDP.

The meeting was informed that the concept paper of a proposed project for training of drivers in the next financial year had been prepared. “A plan has been proposed for setting up of e-service centres in the next financial year.”

The chief minister was informed that through e-service all facilities would be provided to the customers under one roof.

A proposed scheme of Centralised Local Domicile Certificate Management System had also been made a part of the development programme.

“A concept paper has also been prepared for an e-education project. Another concept paper will be prepared for the proposed project for Hub Safe City. A data center is being set up,” the officials said.

The meeting was informed that concept papers of 11 projects of urban development have also been prepared for the next financial year.

Chief Minister Alyani directed the authorities to introduce low-cost housing schemes in the next financial year. “Use state-of-the-art technology to test the fitness of transport,” he said, adding that attention should be paid to skill development as well as management improvement. He also ordered to prepare a feasibility report of Quetta Safe City Phase II.

Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana, principal secretary to the CM, additional chief secretary planning and development, finance secretary, IT secretary, transport secretary, information department and other officials attended the meeting.
