Library established on self-finance basis opens

CHAGAI: A 50-seat library for male and female readers in the remote town of Basima in Washuk district was inaugurated by Commissioner of Rakhshan Division Saeed Ahmed Umrani on Friday.

The library was built and equipped with all facilities on a self-finance basis by Assistant Commissioner Zakir Baloch, some other officers and educationists.

Washuk’s Deputy Commis­sioner Shafqat Anwar Shah­wani, along with other officials and local residents, attended the inaugural ceremony.

Talking to Dawn, Zakir Baloch said the library was established with the aim of promoting education and awareness among the students. He said the library had separate portions for male and female readers.
