Ghani defends decision to suspend physical attendance till class 8

KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that the decision to suspend physical classes for children up to class eight across the province has been taken after majority opinion of the steering committee and opinion of experts in the provincial government’s task force and it must be implemented by all stakeholders.

He told a press conference on Monday that when the Sindh task force decided to close the educational institutions, he asked them to consult the steering committee and convened a meeting two days ago for this purpose. After the meeting the majority decided to close the educational institutions at least for primary schoolchildren.

“The situation of coronavirus in Sindh is better than Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the rate of patients in Karachi and Hyderabad is continuously increasing and if we do not take precautionary measures the situation may even get worse,” he said.
