ACE summons PML-N leaders’ kin for ‘land grab’

LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has summoned close relatives of two women leaders of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for their alleged involvement in land grabbing.

The ACE summoned at its Vehari office on Monday (today) Umar Arshad Gujjar, husband of PML-N leader Maiza Hameed and Mian Zahid Daultana, brother of Tehmina Daultana, over alleged illegal occupation of state land.

The agency is acting on two different references sent to it by the Vehari deputy commissioner,against Mr Daultana and Mr Gujjar for “illegally occupying” state land worth millions of rupees for the last 15 years.

As per the reference, Umar Gujjar had been occupying 63 acres and Zahid Daultana 48 acres of the provincial irrigation department land in pond area of Islam Headworks division.

The ACE director-general has ordered an enquiry into the matters.

An ACE spokesperson says that as per the directions of the chief minister, indiscriminate action against land grabbers across Punjab was being taken.
