Derajat off-road jeep rally begins tomorrow

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The first Derajat off-road jeep rally will be held from March 26 to 28 here along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) western route.

The Derajat off-road challenge was being organised by divisional administration, DI Khan, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority.

The jeep rally was allowed with the standard operating procedures and on submission of the Covid-19 negative test reports by the participants as per the decision of Covid Task Force, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PTI MPA Faisal Amin Gandapur said that all arrangements had been finalised to hold the Derajat off-road challenge keeping in view the coronavirus SOPs.

He said the proposed venue for the event offered diverse geography, dry alluvial plains commonly referred to as Damaan, sandy dunes in the foothills of Shaikh Badin and Indus River flowing along the desert.

The track along one of the most stunning landscapes for Derajat off-road challenge was ready as top riders from all across Pakistan had started arriving Dera. More than 100 racers from all over Pakistan will challenge the sand of the Derajat in different categories.

The off-road challenge has been divided into stock category, women’s category, local category and professional category.
