Man wanted in murder case held after 18 years
GUJRANWALA: The Alipur Chattha police arrested on Thursday the suspected killer of six people, who had been at large for 18 years.
Station House Officer Tahir Wattoo said Khurram, alias Khurmi, allegedly killed four people in Sabzi Mandi some 18 years ago, and also injured four other people. He kept on dodging the police by changing his identity as Kashif and living in different districts where he would sell different items on installments.
The suspect also killed two other persons, the complainants of the four murder cases.
HELD: The Qila Didar Singh police took into custody on Thursday three people of a family for burning a woman alive.
The heirs submitted an application to the police that Shakeela’s husband Irfan on March 7 along with his relatives Salma, Pervaiz, Naveed and others allegedly burnt her alive on March 7. She later died at the Jannah Hospital, Lahore, on Thursday.
They alleged Irfan burnt Shakeela because she knew about his affair with another woman.
Irfan and others have refuted the allegations.
SEALED: Wazirabad Assistant Commissioner Amir Mahmood sealed on Thursday four shops and also fined a hotel owner Rs10,000 for a violation of SOPs in Ghakkhar Mandi on Thursday.
He sealed a shoe shop on GT Road, two garment shops in the main bazaar and two shops in Ghala Mandi.
