QWP asks rulers to quit for failing to check prices

CHARSADDA: The workers of Qaumi Watan Party staged a protest rally here on Tuesday against the increasing price hike in the country and asked the rulers to step down.

Led by QWP provincial chief Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, a large number of QWP workers gathered at Farooq Azam Chowk.

They were holding banners and placards. They chanted slogans against the government. They also torched the effigy of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Addressing the protesters, Sikandar Sherpao asked the rulers to step down.

He said that they failed to provide any relief to people.

He added that poor people faced plethora of problems but rulers were least bothered to mitigate their sufferings in the face of backbreaking inflation.

He said that rulers were following the dictates of International Monetary Fund (IMF), which had no regard for the woes of common people.

He said that people were fed up with the rulers and did not want them to remain in power any longer. “We need to get rid of this government, the sooner the better,” he added.

Sikandar Sherpao said that the PTI rulers backtracked on all their pledges and the slogan of change was a ploy to reach the corridors of power.

“The PTI leaders would not have made unrealistic pledges, if they were sincere,” he said.

He added that claims about creating 10 million jobs and building five million houses were all political gimmicks to deceive people.
