MIRPURKHAS: A fire broke out at the water pumping station situated at Khipro Naka Chowk here on Wednesday and damaged an electricity pole and power transformer.

The pumping station is supplied water from Jhurbi water supply scheme to further supply it to the city with pressure.

On receiving information, a fire brigade vehicle reached there and extinguished the fire after some hours of hectic efforts.

The reason of the fire could not be ascertained.

Owing to the accident, water supply remained suspended from the water pumping station till replacement of the power transformer and electricity pole.
