SPSC criteria

RECENTLY, the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) advertised vacancies in the college education department. The eligibility criteria stated that the candidates applying for the post must have three to five years of teaching experience in a government or government-regulated school/institution.

One wonders what wisdom lies in asking for job-related experience when the successful candidates will undergo multiple trainings. I know many candidates who either have MPhil or PhD, but they are ineligible because they do not have the required teaching experience.

This policy and planning deficit has ruined careers of thousands of competent and intellectual candidates.

The relevant authorities should review this policy and make it education-friendly by ending the requirement of teaching experience.
