NA body for reducing MDCAT passing marks

ISLAMABAD: A parliamentary committee on Thursday directed the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to reduce the passing marks in medial and dental colleges’ admission test (MDCAT) from 60pc to 50pc.

The National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services met with MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi in the chair on Thursday.

It was decided that the committee members will visit the PMC on Friday (today) for manual rechecking of the papers of students who have lodged complainants.

The ministry briefed the meeting about budgetary proposals relating to the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2021-22. It proposed Rs145.5 billion allocations for ongoing and new projects.

The committee endorsed/approved all the budgetary proposals.

It deferred the “Federal Medical Teaching Institutes Bill 2020” and the “National Institute of Health (Re-organisation) Bill 2020” till its next meeting.
