THIS is apropos the letter ‘Prepaid meters’ (Feb 3). Prepaid electricity meters will solve several problems, such as overbilling, non-receipt of bills, non-payment, etc., and save people from many hassles all around. This will benefit the utility companies as well as the consumers. Tenants take advantage of the installment facility and run up huge bills which ultimately have to be paid by owners. The installment facility should only be available to property-owners.
