LG minister to head law dept as well

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday assigned the additional charge of law minister to the minister for local government Akbar Ayub Khan, according to a notification.

The provincial cabinet seat fell vacant after resignation of minister for law and parliamentary affairs Sultan Mohammad Khan.

The minister resigned after a video also showing him with wads of cash, purportedly related to the Senate polls of 2018, had gone viral on social media.

The notification said that the chief minister was pleased to assign the additional charge of law and parliamentary affairs minister to Mr Akbar Ayub Khan, minister for local government department, on additional charge basis under sub-rule 4 of rule 3 of KP Rules of Business, 1985.
