Two brothers shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI: Two brothers were shot dead on Monday near Kalapul when they were returning home from the City Courts after appearing in a case.

Police officials suspected that they were attacked due to some personal enmity.

They said 51-year-old Syed Sabir Hussain Shah and his 48-year-old brother Syed Abid Hussain Shah were on a motorbike when they were attacked.

“Unknown gunmen targeted them near the Kalapul traffic signal,” said an official at the Saddar police station. “They were going home after appearing before a court. Initial investigation suggests that the incident was a result of an old enmity. The victims were booked in many cases at Mehmoodabad, Defence, Baloch Colony and other police stations.”

Taking notice of the dual murder, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has sought report from the Sindh IG.

Talking to media at the Garden headquarters, IG Mushtaq Mahar ruled out any possibility of terrorism or targeted killing of the two brothers.

“The killings were executed on the basis of some personal enmity. But still we are investigating the incident and soon will find out the motive and people behind the deadly attack,” he added.
