Sherpao demands fresh elections in country

CHARSADDA: Reiterating the demand for fresh elections in the country, Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Friday that ‘incompetent’ rulers had been imposed on the nation as public mandate was stolen in the 2018 general elections.

He said though PTI was in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the last seven and a half years it did nothing to provide relief to the people.

He was addressing a gathering held here in Sherpao village in connection with the upcoming 46th death anniversary of Shaheed Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao.

Party workers and local elders from Sherpao and Zyam union councils attended the event besides QWP provincial chairman Sikandar Sherpao and other leaders.

The party chairman paid glowing tribute to Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao and said he worked hard to raise voice for the rights of oppressed segments of the society.

Coming down hard on the government, Mr Sherpao said that ‘incompetent’ rulers had exposed the people to a host of problems. He said the prices of petroleum products were increased for the fifth fortnight in a row.

He said the PTI government could not honour even a single pledge made to the people.
