NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan on Friday said his party won’t allow anyone to steal the people’s mandate in the PK-63 by-election.

Addressing a public meeting here in Nowshera Kalan area, the ANP leader said ANP nominee Engineer Mian Wajahatullah would win the Feb 19 by-election by a large majority.

He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa never belonged to the ruling PTI and would stay so in future.

Mr Aimal said the national institutions should refrain from ‘crossing limits’ and should no more support Prime Minister Imran Khan, whose days were numbered.

He resented high inflation and said the people were struggling to make ends meet.

The ANP leader said his party always protected the rights of Pakhtuns and would continue doing so.

He said the struggle for the development of Pakhtuns would continue in line with the vision of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan.

The event was also addressed by ANP nominee for PK-63 by-election Engineer Mian Wajahatullah and ANP district president Jamal Khattak.

ROBBERY: A driver of the Khyber Tobacco Company Mardan was robbed of Rs11 million cash on Friday near Rashkai Motorway Interchange in the limits of Risalpure police station.

Nihar Ali told the Risalpur police that he along Riaz Mohammad, Rashidand Ijaz left for Sargodha Bazaar on a carlast night and received Rs6 million from a distributor and collected another Rs5 million from a Chakwal distributor.

He added that when they reached Rashakai Interchange, a car stopped them, four men wearing the excise department uniform stepped out, handcuffed him and took them and their car away before abandoning them near Ring Road of Peshawar.

The Risalpur police registered a case.

According to district police officer Najam Al-Hasnain, eight people were involved in the robbery and they abducted the company’s driver and cashier.
