Kidnapped boy recovered

TAXILA: Police on Friday safely recovered an eight-year-old boy, who was kidnapped 10 days ago from outside his residence in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station.

The kidnapper had demanded a ransom of Rs10 million from the boy’s family for his release.

Senior Superintendent of Police Syed Ali told reporters that Ilyas Khan was kidnapped on Jan 10 and shifted to an unknown location.

On the complaint of the boy’s father, Rafiullah, the police registered a case and started investigation, he said, adding that the kidnapper used various SIMS to contact the boy’s family, demanding ransom money.

He said a police team assisted by other law enforcement agencies raided a house located in Nawababad, in the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar police station and safely recovered the boy. The kidnapper was also arrested.

Meanwhile, eight people wearing uniforms kidnapped a man identified as Ghulam Abbas from his residence. Umer Farooq informed police that the suspects entered his house and took his father to an unknown location.

Police registered an abduction case and started further investigation.

Furthermore, City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Ahsan Younas transferred Station House Officer Taxila police station Sub Inspector Raja Gultag over failure to control crime in the area and directed him to report to Police Lines Rawalpindi.
