Woman held for killing husband, two daughters

QUETTA: Police arrested a staff nurse of Civil Hospital here on Friday as she confessed to murdering her husband and two minor daughters.

The bodies of Sumera Faryad’s husband and two daughters were found in their house in the Cantonment area of the provincial capital the other day. The throats of all three persons had been slit.

Police arrested the nurse and shifted her to the Cantonment police station. Police claimed that during interrogation she admitted that she had slit the throats of her three family members after getting dismayed over the attitude of her allegedly philandering husband, Irfan Masihi.

“Nurse Sumera has confessed to the killing of her husband and two daughters,” said ASP Pari Gul Tareen.

Police also found a letter written by the accused in which she stated that her husband had illicit relations with a woman in Punjab and wanted to marry her. Irfan, the letter said, threatened to divorce Sumera and marry the other woman.
