Car delivery
I CALLED an authorised dealer of a well-known car-maker a few weeks ago to inquire about the process of booking one of its top-range brands. To my surprise, the dealer gave me an estimated time of four months for delivery despite a drop in car sales in the country.
The long delivery period is not only perplexing, but also paves the way for the middle persons to sell pre-booked cars on a premium for quick delivery. The company also asks the customer to deposit Rs1.2 million for booking the car that I wanted to book, which means a large amount of money is always available with the company for its use.
I urge the car manufacturers to look into the matter and increase their production to reduce the delivery period reasonably.
