Police form teams to trace missing Dir girl

LOWER DIR: The police on Tuesday formed two teams for tracing 12-year-old girl Hina Bibi, who went missing from Samarbagh here on Dec 20, 2020.

According to a notification issued by district police officer Liaqat Ali Malik, the teams would work under the supervision of DSP Jandol Ijaz Khan.

SHO Samarbagh Rehmanullah, ASI Wahidullah, head constables Habib Zeb, Ameen Khan, Sub-Inspector Salimullah, ASI Ziarat Khan and others had been tasked with searching the girl.

The girl belongs to a poor family and his father works as a labourer.

Jamaat-i-Islami parliamentary leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Mr Inayatullah had raised the issue on the house floor after it was widely highlighted on the social media. The civil society has accused the police of not cooperating with the family in tracing out the girl.

CONTRABAND BURNT: Contraband weighing 9,508 gram was burnt at the Chakdara tehsil court in the presence of judicial magistrate Aziz Ahmad.

Additional district and session judge Liaqat Ali Khan had ordered torching of the contraband, including charas and heroin, seized by the police during raids in different areas of Adenzai.

Meanwhile, the Lower Dir police claimed to have arrested 124 proclaimed offenders and recovered 172 bottles of liquor, 560 grams opium, 9.6kg charas, 1.5kg heroin, 79 guns, 12,485 cartridges, seven rocket launchers, 24 mortar shells, 273 detonators, 436kg explosives, 42 Kalashnikovs, two kalakovs, 21 dynamites, 12 hand grenades, 305 pistols and 10 daggers during raids last year.

FLOUR MILLS SEALED: The district administration has sealed a flour mills after 13 tons of subsidised wheat loaded in a truck was seized at a checkpost on Sunday night.

An official said the wheat was being transported to the Malakand district to be sold in the open market.

He said Adenzai additional assistant commissioner Sher Rehman along with district food controller Kashif Ihsan sealed the Chakdara Flour Mills. The raid was made after the Adenzai Tiger Force members brought the matter into the notice of deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan.

The official said the Chakdara SHO had been directed to lodge an FIR against the mills manager.

Meanwhile, the officials also sealed a polyvinyl chloride pipe factory in Adenzai for operating without NOC.
