PPSC recruitment

THE Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. From the leakage of test papers for the recruitment of deputy accountant (BS-16) held in 2019 to the test for ‘tehsildars’ (BS-16), which was cancelled only 30 minutes before it was due to start, the commission has sparked outrage with its malpractices.

The PPSC should cancel all interviews and written tests for a week or two and change the upcoming tests’ schedule. It should conduct a proper investigation to find all the culprits and break the corruption chain in its fold.

The commission should hire senior staff to conduct interviews, set test papers, ban the examiners, and other staff found guilty of any misconduct.

The PPSC should hold the written test again for the same candidates, issuing the same roll numbers without fee for sustaining the trust of the young and the unemployed. It should ensure that the inspection teams and supervisory staff are using modern technology.

The commission should seriously consider these measures to restore people’s trust and raise the astuteness in and around the PPSC.
