HYDERABAD: Raising voice against injustices committed against Sindh is part of the struggle by any author and that is what researcher and author Mufti Mohammad Sadiq Soomro has done.

This was observed by a speaker at the launch of a biography Soorhiya Alim Sindh jo Mufti of the author in Tando Mohammad Khan on Sunday.

Sindh’s revolutionary poet Hafiz Nizamani said Sindh’s culture, language and civilisation were clearly reflected in its literature. He said Mufti Soomro was a pro-Sindh literary figure who taught people how to remain loyal and committed with their motherland. Soomro raised voice against the injustices to Sindh, which had become history, he added.

He said that writing book was not an easy job and it was indeed a great effort when someone wrote a book with clear understanding. He said Sindh had always paid tributes to its national heroes.

Researcher Maulana Rafiq Bhurgari said Sindh’s heroes had always protected every inch of their motherland and had sacrificed their lives for it. He said stories of those heroes had become a unique part of world’s history which could not be forgotten.

He said Sindh faced invasions by Arghuns and Turkhans in which many precious lives were lost. He said the Hurs also sacrificed their lives in that fight which had become history.

He said Mufti Sadiq was still connected with the ideology of Sindh. His religious and literary services could not be forgotten, he added.

He said the Mufti was not only a towering religious personality, but a living legend of Sindh. He said that he had challenged the dictatorship through nationalist politics and agitation.

Jeay Sindh Liberal Front leader Nawaz Khan Zaunr said Sadiq Soomro’s life could not be separated from Sindh’s national struggle. He said Sindh patriotic workers paid tributes to him during his life.

Speaking to the audience, Mufti Sadiq Soomro said that whatever he had done was not favour to anyone because he was committed with his motherland and he had expressed his love for it wholeheartedly.

He said that what he had written was after feeling pain of Sindhi people. He said he was not worried about the criticism directed at his religious work. He felt as if he was still young, he said.

Poet Adeeb Khalil Khoso, Maulana Yamin Soomro, Dr Ibrahim Sindhi, Prof Moosa Sathio, Ramzan Mahiri, Abdul Rasheed Soomro and others also spoke.

Singer Beejal Sindhi presented patriotic songs at the ceremony.
