Rs3bn projects for youth approved
PESHAWAR: Several projects worth Rs3 billion for youth development were approved by the project steering committee here on Thursday.
The project steering committee of the youth development package and facilities was chaired by additional chief secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan and attended by secretary sports, tourism and youth affairs Mohammad Abid Majeed and other officials.
The meeting also approved the project work plan for the year 2020-21. It said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was going to set up seven youth centres in all the merged tribal districts under the project.
It will encourage tribal youth to participate in healthy recreational activities. In addition, the youth development package includes talent hunt, promotion and exposure programmes at the cost of Rs560 million, capacity building and awareness programme of Rs540 million, special youth development initiatives amounting to Rs300 million and youth endowment fund worth Rs229 million.
