LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) organised separate programmes in different cities and towns on Tuesday to pay homage to PPP founder chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his 93rd birth anniversary.
In Larkana, they held a programme in the party’s district office at Kennedy Market.
Speakers at the programme eulogised the dynamic leadership of Z.A. Bhutto and recalled his contributions to the country and nation.
Inayat Ali Umrani, a former general secretary of PPP-SB’s Sindh chapter said that Bhutto was a far-sighted politician who gave a constitution to the country, introduced agriculture reforms, brought in industrial revolution and strengthened the country’s defence. “We cannot forget his unparalleled contributions,” he said, adding that Bhutto had actually given people a voice. “He was executed during the dictatorial regime of General Ziaul Haq in a fake case”, he said.
He and other speakers said that a revolution under the leadership of Fatima Bhutto [the executed leader’s granddaughter] was imminent.
Later a cake was cut and distributed.
SUKKUR: A large number of PPP-SB workers attended a birth anniversary programme held at the party’s district office in Jacobabad.
They cut a cake, paid homage to the late leader and prayed for the departed soul.
PPP-SB Jacobabad district president Nadeem Qureshi, Noor Mohammad Monhjo, Abdul Sami Soomro and others spoke at the ceremony and said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto waged a lifelong struggle for the rights of workers, labourers and other poor segments of society. They noted that the late leader made the country a nuclear power.
NAWABSHAH: PPP-SB activists and supporters held a birth anniversary programme at the local press club.
A cake was cut by Babar Mugheri, Irshad Khaskheli and other local leaders during the programme.
The participants highlighted the role of Z.A. Bhutto in creating political awareness among the masses and serving them without any discrimination.
