70 heads of ARCs transferred

GUJRAT: In a massive reshuffle of the field staff, the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) on Friday transferred at least 70 heads and deputy heads of the Arazi Record Centres (ARCs) across the province.

The reshuffle is the result of the new policy of posting the senior officers out of their districts of domicile as earlier in September, the PLRA had transferred assistant director land record (ADLR) and land record officers (LROs) from their native districts.

Nadia Cheema, a spokesperson for the PLRA, told Dawn the director general had transferred at least 70 service centre in-charges (SCIs) and assistant SCIs (ASCIs) who were posted at the ARCs of their native towns or domicile districts. She said the authority had been following the policy of posting senior officials out of their native districts to ensure transparency.

It is learnt that the policy of out of domicile district posting is not being implemented in case of service centre officials (SCOs) also known as digital patwaris who could still be posted in their native town or district. However, the PLRA is making a policy of transfer/posting of these junior scales officials.
