In-form Hafsa overlooked

LAHORE: Despite being the top bowler of the recently-concluded National Triangular Women’s Cricket Championship, off-spinner Hafsa Amjad surprisingly could not find a place in the list of 27 camp probables announced for the upcoming tour of South Africa.

Representing PCB Blasters at the national championship, the 26-year-old Hafsa claimed four wickets in three matches at a fine average of 19.50 to top the bowlers’ list but was overlooked for the South Africa tour. Hafsa also scored 20 runs in two innings of the said event, remaining unbeaten once.

Other players whose performances were below Hafsa’s, have been named among the probables.

The selected players include Ramin Shamim, who featured in four matches taking three wickets at a poor average of 33.00, Saba Nazir (three matches, three wickets, 20.00) and Nidar Dar, (three matches, three wickets, 24.67).
