THE government has been striving to bring about a digital transformation in the country to make it competitive in the technological world, but is finding the task tough because the bureaucrats seem to be resisting the move.

The government needs to rethink its strategy. There should be a timeline for each department to get its records digitises and adopt total computing to carry out its daily working. To do so, the government needs to ensure that all employees in service are computer-literate.
