HYDERABAD: A protest rally was brought out here on Thursday from Old Campus to the local press club under the aegis of Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh for the recovery of missing persons. The rally was led by writer Taj Joyo, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan coordinator Imdad Chandio, Aqsa Dayo, Dhani Bux Solangi, Sakina Khatoon, Rehmat Khatoon, Ms Shahzadi and others.

The protesters said that in many cases, two years had passed, but the missing persons had not been recovered. Cases of enforced disappearance, which was a clear violation of human rights, were increasing in Sindh, they said.

They said that Mehran Mirani, Imtiaz Khaskheli, Insaf Dayo, Aqib Chandio, Dodo Chandio, Sheeraz, Faraz Soomro and others remained missing to date and their whereabouts remained unknown. Their family members staged protests outside different press clubs of Sindh on a daily basis, they added.
