GB and politicians

WITH elections over, major political parties will soon forget everything their leaders said and promised during the campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan. Where were these political parties when GB needed them the most? And where will they be when GB would need them in the future? The answer to both the questions is the same; nowhere.

Construction of roads is still under way, while a large number of students from GB still have to travel to urban areas for higher studies suffering a lot during travel, but no one bothers to raise a voice for them.

These political parties come out of their hibernation only before elections to garner votes while spewing venom on their political rivals. Such selfish behaviour of our leaders is disappointing. The recent pre-poll political show in GB was just for the sake of power, not for the welfare of the local people. Abraham Lincoln is known to have aptly said that one can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but one cannot fool all of the people all the time. The locals in Gilgit-Balitistan have learnt their lessons from the past, and the politicians will be better off knowing that.
