PNS Zulfiquar visits Aqaba port

KARACHI: PNS Zulfiquar, with embarked helicopter, sailed off from the Port of Aqaba, Jordan, on Sunday, where it was visiting as part of Pakistan Navy’s overseas deployment to Mediterranean/Red Sea.

According to information received here, the ship, upon arrival, was received by defence attaché of Jordan in Pakistan and the Royal Jordanian Naval Force (RJNF) liaison officer.

During its stay at the port, Commanding Officer PNS Zulfiquar called on senior Jordanian Navy and government officials, including Commander of Royal Jordanian Naval Force Colonel Hisham Al Jarrah. Matters of mutual interest were discussed during interactions along with the contribution of the Pakistan Navy to regional peace and maritime security.

The atrocities in India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir were also highlighted. The commanding officer conveyed well wishes from Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Jordan in general and the RJNF in particular. He also extended his gratitude for the wholehearted support provided by the RJNF in making their ship’s stay comfortable.

Pakistan Navy, in line with government policies, stands ready to play its role for maritime safety and security in the region.
