Moves to divide PDM will fail, says PML-N leader

QUETTA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president Senator Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar said on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government’s moves to divide the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) would fail. He said the PDM leadership was united and it was fighting for the restoration of democracy and upholding of Constitution in the country.

Talking to reporters in Loralai, the PML-N leader said that all conspiracies against the PML-N would also fail as it was still the largest political party in the country.

He said that violations of Constitution and parliament were weakening democracy in the country.

Mr Nasar, who is also chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination, said that incompetent people were running affairs of the government through ordinances instead of legislation through the parliament. “The president recently issued an ordinance about islands of Sindh and Balochistan, bypassing the parliament,” he said, adding that the president’s action was against the Constitution.
