Six killed on road, two brothers murdered over enmity

GUJAR KHAN: Six people died and five others were injured in a traffic accident on Ghareebwal Road near Pind Dadan Khan on Saturday.

Police said a dumper loaded with boulders was negotiating a turn in the steep hilly area when its brakes failed. Running back uncontrolled, the vehicle collided with a passenger van.

Seeing the dumper moving down towards them, some of the passengers jumped out of the van but those who could not were hit and killed.

Among the deceased were five women and a child. They have been identified as Aflaton, 65, Maqsood Begum, 55, Rahila Begum, 22, Zarish, 45, Bakbina, 24, and a five-year-old child.

The deceased were residents of tehsil Choa Saidan Shah.

Rescue 1122 reached the spot and shifted the bodies and the injured to the Tehsil Headquareters (THQ) Hospital Pind Dadan Khan. The driver of the dumper managed to escape from the scene.

Two brothers murdered

The bodies of two brothers were found in the jurisdiction of Mandra police on Saturday.

Ali Shan, 21, and Nabeel, 24, were found shot dead near a pond in the Kakhrhi village.

ASP Hina Nekbakth and SHO Mandra Yasir Abassi reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the THQ hospital Gujar Khan.

According to the police, an old enmity was behind the murder of the two young men.

Police have registered a case and started an investigations.
