Opposition leaders just want relief in corruption cases: Rind

QUETTA: The parliamentary leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the Balochistan Assembly, Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, on Sunday criticised the opposition, saying it leaders had no interest in solving problems of the people.

Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the opposition leaders had launched a campaign against the government in a bid to pressurise it for getting some relief in their corruption cases. But, he added, Prime Minister Imran Khan had made it clear that there would be no relief for those who were involved in corruption. He said all politicians who were facing corruption cases would not get any relief from the government and that they would have to answer about their assets.

He claimed that those who were protesting against the government had no support from the people. The people of the country had given their mandate to the PTI and all those parties who were now components of the recently formed Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) were rejected by them, he added.

Mr Rind accused the opposition parties of forwarding the agenda of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi against Pakistan.

He claimed that instead of raising issues like inflation and lack of education and health facilities, the opposition leaders in their speeches at the recently held PDM’s rally in Gujranwala demanded relief for themselves. “Before their rally, 20 security personnel were martyred in Balochistan and Waziristan, but no one mentioned them in their speeches,” he said.

He alleged that the leaders of the PDM were speaking the language of the enemy who was conspiring to spread unrest in the country through its subversive activities.

Mr Rind said no one could deceive the people of Balochistan because they wanted education and development in their province.
