EU wheat price up 11pc in a month

PARIS: European wheat hit new contract highs for the fourth consecutive session on Friday, bringing the gains over the past month to more than 11 per cent, on persistent concerns over global supplies with large growing regions facing adverse weather conditions.

Benchmark December milling wheat on Paris-based Euronext, was up 0.5pc by 1400 GMT to 207.75 euros a tonne. It had reached 209.25 euros a tonne in earlier trade, a new contract high and 22.5 euros above the close on Sept 15.
