KMU syndicate approves appointments
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Medical University syndicate on Thursday approved appointments to key positions in light of the recommendations of the selection board.
The syndicate met with KMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq in the chair and its members, including registrar Prof Mohammad Saleem Gandapur, special secretary (health) Dr Syed Farooq Jamil and others in attendance.
It took decisions about promotion and appointment of professors, associate professors, assistant professors and lecturers at constituent institutes, said a news release.
Dr Hafiz Mohammad Ilyas was made the controller (examinations), deputy controller (examinations) Mohammad Islam additional director (academics), assistant registrar (establishment) Inamullah Wazir deputy controller (examinations), IPMS office manager Syed Adnan Ali Shah deputy registrar, procurement officer Wasim Hassan Khan manager (research operations), assistant controller (examinations) Nasrullah deputy director (admission), assistant director (admission) Fawad Ahmed QEC deputy director, assistant treasurer Mushtaq Ahmed deputy treasurer, and assistant librarians Riyasat Begum and Mohammad Sadiq deputy librarians to fill vacancies.
The news release said the syndicate also ratified the minutes of its 30th, 31st and 32nd meetings.
Besides the decisions of the 24th and 25th meetings of the Finance and Planning Committee, it also ratified the minutes of the 19th and 20th meetings of the Academic Council.
Paramedics, nursing, physiotherapy institutes also okayed
It also approved the KMU Benevolent Employees Welfare Association Rules, 2020, and the posting of IPMR director Dr Haider Darain as the chairman of the KMU Grievances Committee.
The news release said the syndicate approved various institutes of paramedics, nursing and physiotherapy in light of the recommendations of the 42nd, 43rd, 44th and 45th meetings of the Affiliation Committee, while the revised rates of financial assistance for employees, who die in the line of duty, and the rules of KMU Institute of Public Health evening shift were also approved.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq informed participants that the meeting of the syndicate was being held after a long period of one and a half years in which pending issues would be discussed.
He presented a report on the academic and research activities of the university, especially the establishment of sub-campuses of the university in different divisions of the province, which was appreciated by participants.
The participants said the KMU was striving to achieve goals and continue with the journey of success with the same passion and dedication.
