HYDERABAD: Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party (STP) chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has announced that his party would stage a rally and sit-in outside Governor House in Karachi on Sunday (October 11) against formation of the Pakistan Island Development Authority (PIDA).
Speaking at a news conference at the local press club on Monday, he said protests at district level across Sindh would be held over the next two days against the federal government’s “attempt to occupy Sindh’s islands”.
He described the presidential ordinance regarding the Bundal and Dingi islands as an attempt to indirectly divide Sindh.
During the STP sit-in outside Governor House on Oct 11, a memorandum would be presented to the governor against the ordinance, he said, adding that it would also be dispatched to foreign missions.
The STP chief said that the recent ‘failed march’ in Karachi exposed the MQM-P. He said the demand for separate province was tantamount to creating hatred among the Sindhi- and Urdu-speaking people.
